ADDING A MATERIAL FROM YOUR OWN FILES

  1. Click +ADD NEW CHEMICAL / SDS.

  2. Click the Upload a New Document radio button.

    1. For document format types accepted by the system, see SDS Submission & Access overview.

  3. Decide which upload method you want to use. Either:

    1. Drag your document from your device’s desktop into the text box,

      1. OR

    2. Click Select a File to browse your system.

      1. Browse your device for the document.

      2. Click Open when you find the document.

      3. The file name displays below the text box.

        Note: If you decide to add a different document, click the trash icon to remove the document.

  4. Click NEXT.

  5. In the Edit Details page, provide input for information fields:

    1. Select one or more Location Assignments from the drop-down menu, and click Done when you finish.

    2. Choose to either keep the Product Name or choose a different name for the document.

    3. Enter the material’s Manufacturer name.

    4. Select the Document Type from the drop-down menu.

    5. Enter the document’s Revision Date.

    6. Select the Language spoken at the location from the drop-down menu.

  6. Click NEXT.

  7. In the Confirmation page, review the information you provided, and click SUBMIT.


ADD A MATERIAL/SDS FROM HSI'S DOCUMENT LIBRARY

  1. Click Browse Library.

  2. Enter a key word in the Search field.

  3. Click SEARCH LIBRARY.

  4. Locate the Product you are looking for in the lower portion of the window.

  5. Click the Product’s box.

  6. Scroll down the page and click NEXT.

  7. In the Edit Details window, review the field data and make any necessary updates.

    Note: If you entered a Revision Date in SETTINGS > CHEMICAL / SDS Settings> Revision Date Restrictions, the system prevents you from uploading a document with a revision date older than the date you specified in the SETTINGS module. See Imposing Revision Date Restrictions for more information.

  8. Click the Location Assignment field to select one or more locations by clicking inside the location’s check box.

  9. Scroll down the page, and click NEXT.

  10. Review the information in the Confirmation page and when you are satisfied, click SUBMIT.
